This is great if you have some seriously dark under-eye circles or need to conceal a particular nasty, red spot. It’s long been lauded as a great dupe for the famed Tarte Shape Tape Concealer which isn’t available in Ireland BUT we’ve tried both and we actually kinda prefer the Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer. This isn’t an exact dupe the wet n wild one is a highlighter and the Charlotte Tilbury one is more of a primer, but both products have a doe-foot applicator and give a lovely glow-y finish. MAKEUP REVOLUTION CONCEALER DUPES FOR SHAPE TAPE SKIN
If not exactly the same, it does a pretty damn good job at making my skin look flawless and giving me the full coverage concealer I always wanted.Ohhh, catch us being all American with our “drugstore” reference! Overall, do I think this is a dupe for Shape Tape? I’d say so. The texture of it really does look almost identical, and the colour of the makeup revolution one looks to me to be sort of somewhere inbetween 1 and 2in Shape Tape, which suggests that it’s obviously not the palest it can be, but you know what I’ll take how it looks over wearing a concealer that’s too dark anyday! In terms of comparing it to Shape Tape, I don’t own it myself, but I feel like in terms of coverage it looks pretty damn similar. The Makeup Revolution concealer is the perfect highlighting colour for me and it sits so much nicer with my foundation than orange concealer, as well as the coverage being so much more dramatic. I actually felt like I was having that moment where you discover you’ve been wearing completely orange dream matte mousse for years and nobody told you haha. Like that orangey horror is what I’ve been concealing and highlighting with for over a year. In terms of the colour, I’ve compared it on the left picture here with the lightest shade in the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (left swatch), and let me tell you that I was absolutely stunned by the comparison. It does crease a little if you don’t set it under your eyes as well, but that’s standard really. it’s not uncomfortable, but it is quite tacky so you will need to set it. In terms of texture, it’s thick and full coverage but it doesn’t feel it i.e. It gives the best coverage for spots that I’ve seen from any concealer I’ve ever tried, which I appreciate what with my relentlessly spotty face and all.
As far as how it applies, it blends in really smoothly and I absolutely love the way it makes my skin look. As you can see it’s really quite thick, but I love that as I often felt that my collection one was a bit more on the thin side. I got it in C1, which is the lightest shade (obvs because I’m so pale lmao). So here’s a swatch of the product itself. I like that it’s so big because it’s perfect for applying a lot of product at once and also quickly highlighting. So I’m gonna start off by saying that this applicator is absolutely huge and as you can see from this comparison, it’s pretty similar if not identical to the shape of the Shape Tape doe foot applicator.
